Only clients who are ambulatory and have no severe physical and/or mental handicaps which prevent their full participation are admitted to the program. A diagnostic psychosocial and medical assessment is made of each client so as to better meet the individual’s treatment needs. Although the Center does not provide for a complete physical examination or detoxification of clients, in cases which warrant such, they are referred to other local programs which are appropriate.
Moreover, to both effectively meet the needs of the local population, and increase awareness of the availability of our services, in addition to working directly with the courts, the Center also works closely with several other agencies: alcohol/drug treatment centers/programs, hospitals, clinics, schools and churches located both within and adjacent to Jefferson County.
